Dr Tom Mordue

Tom Mordue is Assistant Dean at Teesside University Business School, with particular responsibility for leading research and business engagement there. His particular research interests are in regional development, urban regeneration, cultural and tourism development, and has a keen interest in how tourism and cultural development are shaping the North East now and in the future. 

Prior to working at Teesside University, Tom was an academic at Sunderland University teaching, and researching in, Geography, Environmental Studies, and Tourism Development.  He entered his Academic career after gaining a PhD in Geography at Durham in 1998, and has published widely in his academic field.   Prior to his academic career, Tom worked for many years in the travel business, most notably for British Airways, when he visited many countries as well as living and working in the US, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey.
